:: 08.12.2010

Processing of the Electro-L weather spacecraft with Zenith-2SB/Fregat-SB continues at Baikonur.
Propellant components and compressed gases are fueled into the spacecraft. Once the operation is completed, Electro-L will be headed to the mounting facility for further integration with the upper stage. Next, the space upper composite will be assembled with the launcher.
Zenith-2SB with Fregat-SB upper stage are scheduled to launch Russian weather satellite Electro-L on Dec. 25.
With this launch, Russia will have its own weather satellite in GSO. Within 10 years of orbital operations, Electro-L will provide Russian and world customers with weather prediction, sea and ocean status, ionosphere status, climate monitoring, ecological data.
