Russian Cosmonaut Roman Romanenko was Awarded the Hero of Russia and the Cosmonaut Pilot Statuses by the Decree of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev

Russian cosmonaut Roman Romanenko was awarded the Hero of Russia and Cosmonaut Pilot Statuses by the Decree of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Romanenko, born in 1971, a son of Yury Romanenko, cosmonaut, Twice Hero of the Soviet Union, returned from his first 6-month space mission in the ISS in November 2009.
Roman Romanenko was awarded for courage and heroism shown during the space flight.
Several other Russian awards were also given to employees of Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, including cosmonauts Gennady Padalka and Yury Lonchakov, and Rocket Space Corporation Energia.
